Keith is the Surrey County Councillor for Worpledon Division (Guildford) which includes the areas of Fairlands, Fox Corner, Jacob's Well, Normandy, Perry Hill, Pirbright, Wood Street Village, Worplesdon and the Broadacres/Oakfields area of Guildford.
He and his wife live in Normandy. They lived in Guildford more than 30 years ago, before moving back in 2010. He immediately became involved with local issues, joining his local Residents Association and becoming Chairman.
He was first elected to the County Council at a By-Election in May 2012, and then re-elected in 2013; 2017 and 2021 - obtaining support from 60% of those voting.
Keith had been a local Councillor before, and served as Chairman of the Environment Committee, Chairman of the Licensing Committee as well as being a member of the Police Consultative Committee at the Royal Borough of Kingston 1998-2002.
This experience served him well in knowing how to get things done through local councils and he brought that knowledge to this role as a councillor for Surrey County Council.
Before retiring from full time employment Keith's working life was mainly in the voluntary sector. He worked for as Director of Fundraising for a hospice charity in London, and before that in the same role for the Shooting Star Children's Hospice Surrey. He previously worked in Parliament at the House of Commons and for different Members of Parliament.
He is a supporter of Surrey Wildlife Trust.
