Residents are invited to an event in May to have their say in the planned redevelopment of Surrey Fire and Rescue Service’s (SFRS) training facilities at Wray Park, Reigate.
Our proposals include redevelopment of the firehouse tower (which is currently used for live fire and ladder training) and other training facilities for working at height, use of breathing apparatus, and operations in confined spaces.
Local residents are invited to Reigate Fire Station on Wednesday, 22 May, any time between 2pm-7.30pm to hear more about the investments and to ask questions.
Chief Fire Officer, Dan Quin expressed his appreciation to the teams involved in securing the investment and added: “This will help us elevate our training standards and will open doors to opportunities through the delivery of both domestic and international training sessions. Our aim is to lead the way in fire and rescue service training, becoming a hub for excellence in the sector.”
Surrey County Council Cabinet Member for Fire and Rescue, Kevin Deanus added: “We are absolutely committed to investing in SFRS to ensure we are fit for the future to meet the needs of a modern fire and rescue service. I would strongly encourage residents to take part and provide their feedback.”
Surrey County Council Cabinet Member for Property and Waste, Natalie Bramhall said: “Our Land and Property team are working closely with Surrey Fire and Rescue Service to enhance the training facilities at Wray Park. We are making significant investment in the modernisation of Surrey Fire and Rescue Service, and I encourage residents to attend the event to view our proposals.”
More details of the redevelopments plans, as well as an opportunity to provide feedback online will be available from 22 May on: http://www.surreysays.co.uk
