Surrey County Council is excited to launch its official WhatsApp Channel offering residents another convenient and accessible way to engage with their local authority.
With WhatsApp being one of the world’s most popular messaging platforms globally, the council hopes that this move will enhance its communication channels, making it easier for residents to stay informed and connected. WhatsApp started off as an alternative to SMS when it launched in 2009. Today, more than two billion people use WhatsApp, and WhatsApp Channels is one of the latest features to help build on its success.
Through the new WhatsApp Channel residents will receive important updates, news, and information directly from the council, including service alerts and community announcements.
