Construction will soon start on Surrey Fire and Rescue Service’s Reigate Fire Station for essential redevelopment.
The project aims to modernise the station’s facilities ensuring they meet the highest standards of safety and efficiency.
It will include:
- Improved health and safety for crews
- New welfare and rest areas, including a new kitchen, gym, dormitories and lounge
- Larger appliance bays to accommodate the larger size of our existing fleet of engines and better serve our communities
- A new separate space for use by South East Coast Ambulance Service
- Cleaner, greener and more sustainable designs
The construction is scheduled to start in October. To facilitate this work, Reigate Fire Station crew and their appliances will remain on site and relocate to another building on site as a temporary measure. This move is vital to ensure the scheduled work can start in the coming weeks.
Chief Fire Officer at Surrey Fire and Rescue Service, Dan Quin said: “We are pleased to begin the necessary improvements to Reigate Fire Station. This investment means we can enhance and update our facilities and better serve our communities.
“I’d like to thank our staff, residents and the community of Reigate for their support with this piece of work.”
The Reigate Fire Station redevelopment project is funded by Surrey County Council and forms part of a broader investment in SFRS sites aimed at modernising facilities, enhancing community safety, and addressing both current and emerging risks.
